Starting 2018 off in style, the WrestleZone grapplers are ready to go for Summerhill Showdown.

Our annual event at our first Aberdeen home will see favourites including Undisputed Champion Damien, Scotty Swift, Mr. P and Zach Dynamite in family-friendly wrestling combat on Saturday 21st January.

WrestleZone management have also lined-up a huge special attraction for our first event of the year, as star of BBC’s Scot Squad Grado returns to action at Summerhill Showdown.

Opening night is always one of our most interesting shows, and with three title matches also set for the event, this promises to be quite the night at the city’s Summerhill Hotel.

Doors at the Lang Stract venue open at 6.30pm with the action underway from 7pm. Admission is pay-at-the-door only priced £12 for adults and £7 for under 14s; special e-tickets are available from Ringside World, securing priority entry to the event and ensuring you will not miss one bit of the action!

We hope to see you at ringside for our first foot into the New Year, with lots to look forward to as we begin the journey to the Regal Rumble.

2018 will start with a huge Undisputed Championship rematch as new champion Damien defends against former title-holder Shawn Johnson, who cashes-in his rematch clause at Summerhill Showdown. The Sterling Oil grappler thinks the time is now right to end the ascendancy of the “Revolutionary” and on January 20th, will look to take a bite out of Damien’s momentum.

But since winning the championship at Halloween Hijinx, Damien has proven to be an enduring champion during his second run with the title. Defeating top challengers such as Andy Wild and Nathan North, the “Revolutionary” has changed the way of life at the top of the tree.

His new-found glory has been supported by the WrestleZone fans and they will not want to see Shawn Johnson return as title-holder. But the Sterling Oil grappler has a lot of support from Richard R. Russell’s men, and experience points to William, Alan and Crusher getting involved at some point in this contest. Much will depend on whether Damien can fend off their attentions but what’s for sure, we are in for quite the night as WrestleZone returns to the Summerhill Hotel.

The Tri-Counties title will be defended at Summerhill Showdown in a rematch from Huntly – Aspen Faith getting a rematch against new champion Zach Dynamite. These two clashed at Christmas Chaos too with ZD coming out on top, but only just against his great rival.

The “King of Catch” will have his sights set on regaining the title he won at Aberdeen Anarchy after what he will consider a minor blip on the road. But for “Fully Loaded” he will want to start 2018 the way last year ended – and assert his dominance over the Tri Counties division.

Six-man tag team action is set for Summerhill Showdown and will be highlighted by the return of Stevenson funnyman Grado! The star of BBC’s Scot Squad series makes the journey north for opening night and fans in the Summerhill Hotel are looking forward to seeing the sensational Scotsman in the WrestleZone for the first-time since Aberdeen Anarchy.

Grado resumes his tandem with Mr. P and for this contest they will be joined by Bryan Tucker as the trio take-on former tag team champions the Sterling Brothers and “Vintage” Nathan North. With six huge personalities and the eyes of the Summerhill Hotel on them, we expect this match to be an entertaining affair with Grado at the centre of festivities.

Chris Archer and Mikkey Vago ended 2017 on a high by regaining the tag team championships, but in starting 2018 they face a top challenge in the doubles division. Former Undisputed Champion Andy Wild is ready to go after an impressive year and has enlisted the help of youngster Jason Reed for this challenge to the Rejected. With Reed’s exuberance and Wild’s power, The Rejected face a big threat to the doubles gold when action returns on Saturday 20th January.

Having defeated Kasey Owens in 2017, the “Queen of WrestleZone” Sammii Jayne now looks to defeat her sister Leah Owens when she makes her WrestleZone debut at Summerhill Showdown. Sammii has proven to be a cut above the rest in the women’s division with 2017 marking her best ever year inside the wrestling ring. But at Summerhill, a new challenger arrives, and fans will be looking forward to seeing these two women in body slamming action.
